Suicide Prevention National Transformation Programme

SPP logos

The Suicide Prevention National Transformation Programme aims to reduce the number of deaths by suicide in England by 10% by 2020/21.

NHS England are investing funding in 37 local areas to establish or develop their multi-agency suicide prevention action plans to reduce suicide and self-harm. These plans cover three of the main priority areas identified in the National Suicide Prevention Strategy:

  • Reducing risk in men
  • Prevention and response to self-harm
  • Improving acute mental health care.

We have been commissioned to work alongside the National Confidential Inquiry into Suicide and Safety in Mental Health (NCISH) to support the delivery of this programme.
