Professor Mike Crawford - Director of CCQI
Mike Crawford is the Centre Director. He is a clinical academic with a special interest in service quality and health services research. He is a Professor of Mental Health at Imperial College London and part time Honorary Consultant Psychiatrist at a specialist treatment service for people with personality disorders at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust.
Peter Thompson - Senior Associate Director of CCQI
Peter is Senior Associate Director for the College Centre for Quality Improvement. He previously worked in CCQI from 2004 to 2016, establishing and managing many of the Centre’s accreditation and quality networks.
His most recent role was Head of Education, Standards and Quality Improvement at the Nursing and Midwifery Council where he was responsible for managing the quality assurance of UK education institutions delivering nursing and midwifery education. Peter is also a magistrate in Central London.
Alan Quirk - Head of Clinical Audit and Research
Alan has a PhD in sociology and has worked as a researcher at the College since 1998. Alan’s main areas of interest are shared decision-making in psychiatric practice, user and carer experiences of mental health care, qualitative research, questionnaire and interview development, and survey research.
Harriet Clarke – Head of Quality and Accreditation (Cluster 1)
Harriet returned to the CCQI in 2018 as Head of Quality and Accreditation (Cluster 1) covering a range of networks across inpatient and community services. She previously worked in the CCQI from 2011 to 2017, across quality networks for CAMHS and perinatal services as well as accreditation networks for adult acute inpatient and eating disorder services.
Her most recent role while away from the College was in CAMHS Commissioning at Camden CCG.
Dr Rob Chaplin - Clinical Lead for Accreditation
Dr Rob Chaplin is a Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry currently working on an inpatient unit for the acute admission of male inpatients of working age at Littlemore Hospital, Oxford. He has been working as the Clinical Lead for Accreditation at the College Centre for Quality Improvement (CCQI) for the last two years, having previously been a Research Fellow at the CCQI for over 10 years.
He has interests in improving the admissions of people with mental health problems, the therapeutic alliance, the care of people with learning disabilities and ECT. He has also helped to disseminate the findings of CCQI projects in peer reviewed publications and supervises trainees’ research.
